Knights Bar-B-Que

To: Sarah Profitt

Good-Day Sarah,

Our Council have sent a cheque of $500.00 to Special Olympics PEI. We held a BBQ at the Giant Tiger store on a Saturday, 16th Sep.  The store manager, Dave Bryanton was very generous in supplying everything,  the food and propane free of charge.

We had Paul Phillips help out this year. He stayed the whole day with the Knights selling hot dogs, which was great! Unfortunately we were only able to do one BBQ this year, with everyone so busy. We will try to have more next year.

First Degree at Basilica Parish

Our Lady of Fatima Knights of Columbus Council #824 St. Dunstan’s Basilica was blessed October 29th to welcome five new Knights into its Council following the 1st Degree Exemplification ceremony that was held Sunday afternoon in our Council Chambers.

In the picture from left to right: PEI State Deputy James “Jazz” Poirier, Desmond Fall, Christian Ngabo, Spencer Noye, Joseph George, Manoj Thomas and Mike White. Absent from the photo is Fr Martin Carter, who also took part in the 1st Degree Ceremony and is now a member of the Knights of Columbus.

We are truly thankful that these men have chosen to become members of the Knights of Columbus and we look forward to celebrating with them in fellowship and friendship!

Dear Mr. Deviat:

Thank you for sending us your news. We have included a report AND/OR photo of the project in the October update of the Knights in Action web page, posted at http://www.kofc.org/knightsinaction. The report will appear online only; it will be visible on the Knights in Action homepage for approximately on month, and filed for publication in the magazine at a later date. Due to the volume of reports received and the limited number of pages available to us monthly in the print edition of the magazine, it will likely be several months before it appears in print. Thanks again.

Best wishes,

Honour Guard at Fr. Bolger’s Funeral

4th Degree Knights of Columbus formed an Honour Guard for the funeral Mass for Fr. Francis Bolger on Tuesday, October 3.

The largely attended funeral was a very fitting tribute to a beloved priest who gave himself in service to his Church, his Province and his Country.

We pray for the repose of his soul.
