Dear friends, With great joy and thanksgiving to God, I am pleased to announce that I have been called to the Order of Deacon by His Excellency Bishop Richard Grecco.

My Ordination will take place on Friday, August 14, 2020, at Saint Augustine’s Seminary in Toronto, and will be presided by His Excellency Bishop John Boissonneau, Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only the priests in residence at the Seminary and a few guests will be attending.

I would like to thank Bishop Richard for calling me to the Transitional Deaconate and his support over the last six years of Seminary formation. Thank you to the priests of the Diocese, all of whom have been very supportive and have stormed Heaven with prayers for me. And to all the parishioners of the Diocese, who have also prayed for and supported me in many ways throughout my time in Seminary so far.

Everyone please continue to pray for me as I approach this important step of formation.

A special word of thanks needs to go out to the people of Tignish, PEI, and surrounding areas. I was extremely blessed to have been at Saint Simon and Saint Jude for my Internship Year. I have all great memories of my time there and all of the people there have impacted my discernment and made me a better Seminarian and man.

Finally, my thanks also go out to my family, most of whom are in Nova Scotia and Ontario, for their continued support.

I am sorry you cannot be here to celebrate with me, but there will be plenty of pictures to share.

Obviously, I would not be here without you all and I thank you all for your love and support.

Transitional deacons are seminarians, students in the last phase of training for the Catholic priesthood. After being a deacon for a year, they are ordained a priest.

Deacons, priests, and bishops are considered clerics, members of the clergy, in the Catholic Church. We can now begin to pray for my future priest ordination, which will hopefully happen in 2021 when I complete my Seminary formation.

PEI Right to Life Association is proud to announce the offer of an Educational Bursary valued at $2000.

This is for a young woman from Prince Edward Island who has carried an unplanned pregnancy to term and wishes to further her education attending a post-secondary institution.

As part of our mission statement to educate Islanders on the value and dignity of the human person, we are announcing this bursary to enable the pursuit of education for those who choose life.

The gift of life and pursuing education should never stand in conflict with one another, and we at PEI Right to Life wish to assist in manifesting that truth.

Attached is a full description of the requirements for this generous bursary.

The Assumption Council of the Knights of Columbus in Stratford will be having their 22^nd Annual Easter Sunrise Ecumenical Service, Easter Sunday morning, April 1^st, under the canopy of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 145 Stratford Road, Stratford.  Assembling at 6:40 am for service at 6:52 am.  (20-25 minutes).  Sun rises at 6:52 am.  Welcome, scripture readings, reflection, and song.  Coffee, fellowship, treats, etc. to follow in the Parish Centre.  A sincere and warm welcome to everyone from all faiths and congregations.

Congratulations to the winners and finalists in our Knights of Columbus Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Challenge.

First place prizes went to Kian Gill (age 6) and George Woods (9) submitted to Kensington Council #12465, and Lexi Kowalchuk (14) through Cornwall Council #10808.

Their posters along with runners-up, Layla Full (5) and Luke McGillivray (7) from St. Anne’s Emyvale, Jacob Bernard (9) from Holy Family Parish Kensington, and Tasha Kowalchuk (11) from St. Francis of Assisi Parish Cornwall, will be sent to Supreme Office in Connecticut for the International Competition.

Special thanks to Darren Cash, Kyle MacNeil and Basil Favaro for organizing and orchestrating this special KofC project and to all the judges.

‘Thank you to all children and youth who submitted entries this year for your creativity, inspiration and vision. You are all winners!’
